Crew 2911 worked on a service project for the Missoula Manor, we repaired and cleaned four existing birdhouses that had been placed by a local Cub Scout Pack a few years ago.  We also, added six new birdhouses that had been built at the Cub Day Camp back in June.

The Crew headed to Blue Mountain for a round of Folf for a fun meeting.

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue volunteer team came to our meeting and gave a demonstration. We toured their command vehicle, talked about search and rescue procedures, and assisted in rescuing Orion.

Four members of Crew 2911 attended the WCSM’s Youth Shoot in Great Falls.  They were able to shoot weapons from any period of U.S. History.  There were blackpowder muskets, rifles and pistols of the American Revolution and Civil War eras.  Next were weapons of the World Wars and more recent conflicts; like the Thompson, M-1 Carbine, grease-gun, AR-15 and M-16.  Not to be left out, were the big guns; such as a Gatling gun, a canon and a .50 caliber rifle.

Crew 2911 joined hundreds of scouts and venturer’s from around Montana for the Council Camporee, held at the fairgrounds in Townsend, MT.  Participating in several activities to earn the special Activity Patch.

Six members of Crew 2911 attended Avalanche Awareness training at the University. This hour long lecture gave the us the skills we need to avoid avalanche prone areas while we explore the snowy back country.

Scouts from all over Montana attended the Bitterroot Rendezvous to hone their mountain man skills, enjoy games, and socialize.
